Our trip starts in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan. From there, we’ll explore the country, stopping at different places and flying sites along the way. As always on paraworld.ch trips, flying comes first, but there’s plenty to discover on the ground too.
With local off-road experts, we’ll reach some of Armenia’s most memorable flying spots, from dormant volcanoes to sites near beautiful lakes. An adventure and a road trip for pilots who want to explore somewhere new, on the ground and in the air.
Armenia is a landlocked country in the South Caucasus. With an average elevation of around 1,800 metres, it is one of the most mountainous countries in the world. Mount Ararat towers over it all. Although it now lies in Turkey, it remains a symbol of the Armenian soul.
In 301, Armenia became the first country to adopt Christianity as its state religion. Ancient monasteries perched on cliffs still tell that story today. With its own alphabet, ancient language and legendary hospitality, Armenia welcomes us as friends rather than tourists.
Meals feature lavash flatbread, juicy khorovats from the grill, dolma and Armenia’s famous fruit. The climate is continental, with hot, dry summers, snowy winters and countless sunny days in between. At almost 2,000 metres, Lake Sevan sparkles in the heart of it all, one of the world’s largest high-altitude lakes. A place that has kept us coming back for years.
