After the ground training, the paraglide training continues with the high-flights, i.e. from now on you will fly from mountains in high altitude. From our shops in Zurich and Lucerne we will take you to the mountains by our shuttle. While ground training was mostly about launching and landing technique, now you will also train manoeuvres in the air as well as serious flight preparation including weather analysis. Following a clear structure, you will learn to handle your paraglider in the air. This includes among others thermal flying, i.e. gaining height in upwind, as well as how to deal with situations where it gets a bit rougher and your paraglider acts up. It goes without saying that all of this includes lots of fun.
During the high-flight training, you will always be supervised and instructed by a flight instructor at the landing site as well as a launching assistant at the launching site. A detailed meteorology briefing is part of every flying day. Most of our training sites are situated pre-alpine near Lake Lucerne (Vierwaldstättersee). Depending on the site, 2-5 high-flights per day are possible. In most of the areas, we reach the launching site by cable car; however, a few minutes’ walk is always required. Happy and recharged by the sun, we often end the day with a drink in our shop.
